The Japan Quality Encouragement Award, TQM Encouragement Award
In November, 2020, we received the Japan Quality Encouragement Award, TQM Encouragement Award from The Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers.
【Reasons for Selection】 The award was given in recognition of the following TQM features of the company in the processing of lenses for medical equipment, cameras, surveillance and measurement equipment. ・The company integrates all management activities on Human Resource Development. ・The company is utilizing every opportunity to penetrate the company policies to every employee. ・By focusing on the in-house development of high-precision inspection equipment in manufacturing and inspection processes, they have been able to continuously reduce the market failure rate in the extremely severe medical field, while they developed and enhanced production technology supporting the maintenance and enhancement of an integrated production system. ・They systemize “simple improvements,” “my suggestions,” and “small group activities (QC circles)” and utilize them to improve management. As a result of these efforts, we have been able to reduce the in-process defective rate and the market defective rate, and the profit index has grown significantly over the past few years despite a year-on-year decrease in the sales index.
